Years ago, when I was a youngin, my older sister had a video tape that consisted of nothing more than every Guns N Roses film clip ever made. Hence, they were the first band I ever gotten into. Well, as much as a 5 year old could get into.
So this video disappoints me. Slash, why oh why. Are you that hard up for cash?
Anyway, to hear some awful singing (seriously, I know she's pretty much butch or whatever, but Axl could reach a higher note than that woman.... I'm just saying....) and to see some hilarious (I guess she calls it) "dancing", check out the bootleg video of Fergie joined by Slash covering Sweet Child o Mine.
My Chemical Romance are about to release their new DVD The Black Parade is Dead and have put a sneak peak up over at Buzznet. Urgh. Yes, they put up that song. But still two words. Bob's Drumkit. (Or is it three?). Wow. It fucking revolves. That's cool.
There's also some competition or something but every comp seems to be US only I didn't even bother looking into it. That and I refuse to sign up to buzznet. Don't quote me on that last thing tho....
Disturbed have posted a new video online for "Inside The Fire". Apparently it's graphic. I'd say more triggering than graphic, but what would I know. In case you don't want to watch the video, David Draiman prefaces it with him telling people to call a number for Suicide Prevention (MCR you hearing this!).
Anyway, the clip is pretty good. Then again, a clip with everyone doused in blood always gets my vote. But let me tell you some of the things I noticed :
The National Suicide Prevention Hotline (National being USA) starts with 1800.... that's Australia's freecall number isn't it? weird...
Anyway, not a huge fan of the ending, I mean, I "get" it, but would've rather have it end the way you think it's gonna end. But even this version is going to be edit for TV.
Anyway, head over to their Official Site to watch it and more of their videos.
I've been debating about whether to do a Rage Watch to point out worthwhile videos to look out for. I haven't done it in the past because I work Fri/Sat nights, then Sunday (early!!) morning and if I find a great bunch of videos, I can very rarely watch. I'm still working all weekend, but am annoyed that I'm going to miss some great videos on Saturday night (/Sunday morning).
It starts off pretty good at around 12:30pm with
Hatebreed - This is Now Refused - New Noise Rage Against the Machine - Testify
It lulls for a bit before two The Prodigy songs (Smack my Bitch Up - which is a great video especially the first time you see it. As long as you don't get a queasy stomach from seeing somebody puke... and also the clip to Firestarter)
It goes techno for a while, then to England, but wake up again just before 4:00am for a really awesome line up.
The Used - The Bird and the Worm The Used - I Caught Fire (ok, so I hate the song and film clip, they could've played a single off their first album instead!!!!) My Chemical Romance Welcome to the Black Parade (now that I don't hear it every hour I'm back to "not minding" this song again.)
My Chemical Romance - Helena 30 Seconds to Mars - A Beautiful Lie (meh. I hate Jared Leto.... and his bloody long film clips!!) 30 Seconds to Mars - The Kill (Bury Me) {as long as they play the real version with more gore, I can handle this one} Puscifer Queen B (this film clip & song rock. I get it in my head all the time... "can I get a hell yeah!") A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras A Perfect Circle - Judith Tool - Sober Tool - Stinkfist (Tool always have good clips) Nine Inch Nails - Survivalism (nothing wrong with seeing two men get it on......) Nine Inch Nails - The Hand That Feeds (Jeordie AND Trent in the same film clip = awesome) Nine Inch Nails - Starfuckers Inc. (Gotta love the whole Trent/Manson kissed and made up. And all the "cameos" love this song and film clip.)
And lastly, we end our run at around 5am with one of my ALL TIME favourite film clips : Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug
After that it's bedtime because you can't top that last hour.
Check out the full playlist here.
If you're wondering what happened to tonights (Friday) there's not that much worth watching. There's HIM and COG and that's about it. Check it out here.

If you're a drunkard like me and fall down a lot, chances are someone caught it on film. What better way to immortalize your awesomeness than by submitting it for the new Atreyu video, so that everyone else can laugh at your (lack of) co-ordination skills.
It's a pretty cool idea, and a brilliant PR stunt. Atreyu are accepting submissions surrounding the theme "Falling Down" to commemorate their new single of the same name. You can do so by submitting artwork, photos or video for the project by going to their buzznet group here.
As long as it doesn't turn out like a 3min Australia's Funniest Home Video segment I'll be happy.

For a guy that is in two of my favourite movies (of all time, mind you!) I sure do hate Jared Leto. He insists he doesn't use his acting to help the band, and for the most part, I guess that's true.
But do most bands get the kind of budget that they do when they make film clips (or "mini" movies as they turn out)? I'm sorry, but unless your Michael Jackson, you don't get to make a 10min long film clip. I'm hoping their newest video "A Beautiful Lie" is not going to go for 15mins. But anyway, they filmed it in Greenland. It's apparently the "first video ever shot 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle".
Similarly, "From Yesterday" was the first American video shot in the People's Republic of China. I'm hoping for their next film clip they do another first, and NOT have Jared show off his "acting" skills... just make a damn film clip. (Yeah, yeah, I like the film clip to "The Kill", even if they did rip it off a movie. But the start of it totally ruins it. I don't want to hear him talk. I just want to see the blood and gore... and why the hell do they take so long to get to the *actual* song anyway!!)
Stay tuned for me to rip it to shreds (aka. review it) when it comes on youtube.

Unless you're one of my favourite bands, I normally don't like covers being released, luckily Otep fit the bill !
Also the fact that this film clip pays homage to Hole (if you don't know what I'm talking about, try watching this film clip) which makes this film clip AMAZING in my books.
As for the song itself, they don't really change much at all, obviously they add in some screaming, and the talking that Otep is famous for, but the main parts remain unchanged.
But this is by far my favourite Otep video thus far, there's so much visual imagery going on it deserves a re-watch. And seeing Ms Shamaya as a domestic goddess is classic.
I give it a 9 out of 10. (Only because I'm stubborn and don't want to give out a 10 )
The list is pretty yawn-worthy. Most of the ones I expected are on there, some I actually hate, and others are so-so. The fact that there are quite a few Rap videos on there puts a bad taste in my mouth.
Yes, I have something against Rap videos. Actually most Rap in general. And I hate Mika. But glad to see NIN, Tool and The White Stripes included.
But it begs the question... what's your favourite video from 2007?

I love anything My Ruin related, so I had fairly high expectations for this clip. Luckily, it's pretty good. It's very them.
The main part of the video is the band rocking out. Yes, it's got all the theatrics that you'd expect of them - candles, crosses, other religious imagery etc. but the biggest part of the video is a sort of homage to Miss B's car accident and then recovery.
My favourite part though? Kneeling at the alter offering brass knuckles. GENIUS!
There's also the inaugural "band drinking" scenes, and what video would be complete without fire breathing? And the medication looks strangely like Viagra. Not that i'd know what that looks like or anything.........
And the wounds flashing on the screen near the end I'm pretty sure are courtesy of Miss B also. I think i've spoiled most of the parts, so I won't spoil the ending for you. Just watch it!

The video starts off promising. They're all wearing white, white instruments, paint pouring down the walls. Then you realise that's it.
I guess by the time you get to a fourth video you stop caring.
I mean, it's a good video. I just wish something more would happen in the 3:30mins, which is a shame, because I really like their previous 3 efforts. Unless there's some underlying message in the paint that I'm not getting.... Like how afterwards they had to curse god because they realised how hard it is to get paint out of hair. Yeah, yeah, I had thought of "the walls bleeding" message, but then it should've all been red paint, not pretty colours....
At least she keeps up the "pretty dress" theme. And she shows more leg than I've ever seen of hers. Totally irrelevant, but I knew you'd all care.
