The groove is on with a whole new edge and sound that has grabbed the attention of many worldwide with much praise and support for a band that looks set to create an explosive ripple in the stream of the music industry.

For a band that's obviously heavily influenced by my all time favourite movie, Copy of a Copy don't disappoint. Their tongue in cheek attitude towards music is refreshing, and their songs make you wanna thrash and scream along with them. Luckily they don't speak only in vowels...
Their myspace proclaims :
"WHO WE ARE
A copy of a copy of every punk/rock bands you have already listened to.
"
Their Demo "Lost Everything, Do Anything" has just been released, with all 3 tracks worthy of the repeat button. The amazing guitar work seems to propel the 5 guys from France out of the "Punk" label, and (I hate labels and pigeonholing but we all do it...) into more of a "Hardcore" scene.
There's screaming, singing, heavy guitars, stomping bass and pounding drums, perfect gig music! For a demo, these tracks are really smooth - in a roughed up way of course.
Check out the track Fable from their demo, swing by their myspace for more tracks, and spread the word
I know I'm slightly pessimistic, but this sentence really depressed me.
"With the signature model, Joan Jett has become the first female with a Gibson electric signature model in her name."
IT'S 2008! FUUUCK!
Ok, enough feminism speak.
So I heard Joan Jett has her own signature guitar out. It's based on her 1977 Melody Maker guitar. I've never been a huge fan of white guitars, but it's cheap, and it's Joan Jett's, so by definition that makes it cool.
Lacuna Coil have canceled their upcoming tour of Australia. No reason, and no "we'll make up for it and come back later in the year"!! Urgh. Not cool. I was so looking forward to it!
You can get your money back in full for your ticket, but even $60 worth of vodka wont numb the pain...
Disturbed have posted a new video online for "Inside The Fire". Apparently it's graphic. I'd say more triggering than graphic, but what would I know. In case you don't want to watch the video, David Draiman prefaces it with him telling people to call a number for Suicide Prevention (MCR you hearing this!).
Anyway, the clip is pretty good. Then again, a clip with everyone doused in blood always gets my vote. But let me tell you some of the things I noticed :
The National Suicide Prevention Hotline (National being USA) starts with 1800.... that's Australia's freecall number isn't it? weird...
Anyway, not a huge fan of the ending, I mean, I "get" it, but would've rather have it end the way you think it's gonna end. But even this version is going to be edit for TV.
Anyway, head over to their Official Site to watch it and more of their videos.
Ok, this half makes me laugh, half cry. So I must be only half emo right? Anyway, there's some sort of march going on in London by My Chemical Romance fans in retaliation for The Daily Mail calling MCR a "suicide cult".
Now I'm a massive MCR geek, and if The Daily Mail cared to do a little research they'd know that it's kinda the opposite of what MCR are/were going for. (Cue Headfirst for Halos).
Ok, so that's me laughing out of the way, and onto this article.
"They could find only one clue: Hannah was what is known as an "emo". WTF? So apparently instead of using medical terms and getting psychiatrists and psychologists to air their thoughts, they just call her emo and voilĂ ! We just blame her music/hairstyle and clothes!?
Apart from the fact that whoever writes the blog for Megaherz should be fired (the link in it takes you to myspace.com/megaherTz - different site totally!!) I'm totally excited for the new release from my second (or sometimes first) favourite German metal band, Megaherz.
The album (slotted for a 25th of July release) is apparently coming to a store near me. I wish. Although I live in the big smoke now so maybe I can find it here in Australia?
Heuchler will be available to stream from the bands myspace - the real spelling a week before the release, or go there now to check out "Fauler Zauber" coz it rocks.
But the most amazing thing is if you're a total geek (even I don't qualify!) then you can preview the album on Second Life in "Club Dark Refuge" on 23rd May. Geez that's cool in a totally geeky way. Unfortunately I don't have a spare 23097 Gig on my computer to install the bloody Second Life stuff... well, the program and all the cool stuff to make me look cool. So I wont meet you there. That and the fact I couldn't work out where the fuck I was and why I could fly. So I deleted it and went and talked to REAL people...(ok, maybe only on MSN, but it just seems more real? Arrrgh. I'm a hermit!)
Because no-one got enough of Lacuna Coil when they toured last year, they're back headlining! And thanks to the good folks at KMW Productions if you want to win a double pass to the show, and get to meet the band, just send an email to info@kmwproductions and answer the question
"Is Cristina Scabbia the hottest chick in metal?".
I'm wondering how many replies consisting of either "yes" or "fuuuuuuck yeeeaaaah" they get.
Oh, and no-one from Queensland enter. I want to win goddamit!!!!!
I know I'm a tad late with this one, but head over to theslip.nin.com to download for free the entire new Nine Inch Nails album. I must admit, if he they released a physical version I'd buy it but it's nice of him them to put it out for free, no strings attached.
Yeah, I know, I'm such a fangirl at heart. Which is why I'm excited that my favourite boy band are releasing their DVD on June 24th. It's entitled "The Black Parade is Dead!" and comes in your standard DVD (either regular or clean. who the fuck gets clean versions??) or a limited edition which also has a "collectible pinewood coffin box burned with the mcr logo, 1 of 5 masks and a certificate of authenticity."
Thankfully this time around the special edition isn't as ridiculously priced as the last one, but it'd be so much cooler if the coffin was actually coffin shaped, and you got all 5 masks. Ah well. You can check out theblackparadeisdead.com for more info and to pre order. Although, I much prefer to go to theblackparade.com coz it's cool in a subtle way. Although they need to play that annoying "BEEEEP" as well. You know, to add to its authenticity and all. And to annoy the shit out of everyone. Mwahahaha.
It's always fun when people are proved wrong, especially when they sue people and have this "holier than thou" attitude...
Back in 2002 (I think?) Metallica were pissed at Napster (and its minions) for downloading music for free... and since the massive success of NIN (and radiohead) they're eating their words...
Lars told Rolling Stone
"We're looking at how we can embrace everything. We want to be as free players as possible. We've been observing Radiohead and Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails) and in 27 years or however long it takes for the next record, we'll be looking forward to everything in terms of possibilities with the internet."
Sure. Before they were blasting the internet and people downloading music for free, and now they're embracing it?
I guess better late than never? You can't expect people of their age to be up with all this kind of technology and the way of the future... wait a minute ... Trent and Thom are like 20 years old aren't they? Damn kids and their technology!
